Director of Academics - Academic Dean
Duties
The Director of Academic Programs, reporting directly to the Head of School, will have authority for development, implementation, measurement and continuous improvement of the school's academic programs in Grades K - 8.- GAIS intends to develop its academic curriculum to not only retain its position as one of the most academically competitive private schools in the Bay Area but also plans on developing its full curriculum up to high school levels.

- GAIS aims to further extend its reputation as the leading German/English language school in the region.
- GAIS requires an Academic Dean who further develops, retains and leads the school curriculum from Pre-School, Primary School (grade 1 – 5), Middle School (grade 6 – 8) and beyond up to High School-level (grade 9 – 12, i.e. to an international baccalaureate)
Requirements
- Educational background: Teacher Training Certificate (for Germans: 1st and 2nd State Exam), Masters Degree in Education, or equivalent; including didactical and pedagogical issues and a certificate to teach German as a foreign language.
- The ideal candidate brings 5-10 years of intense first hand teaching on Middle and High School-level and foremost in shaping and leading the academic planning, the curriculum, and the implementation for a progressive mid-sized school
- He/she must demonstrate ultimate understanding of the German culture ideally by having lived and worked in the German-speaking environment for many years. Fluency in the English language is a must (ideally in combination with teaching experience in the US).

Preschool Assistant Teacher (Full-time)
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, fluent German-speaking Preschool Assistant for our German language Preschool Program.
Duties
The Assistant teacher will support the Preschool teacher in providing age-appropriate activities for students aged 3-5 years old. We are looking for someone who is creative, a self-starter, and willing to get covered in paint. The assistant teacher must be a team player and help to guide children socially and emotionally. The hours are from 8:15 am. to 2:00 pm. during the school year plus attendance at staff meetings and professional activities.Requirements
In addition to being fluent in English and German, the ideal candidate will have qualifications and/or experience in working with children at this age level.
After-School Teacher - Elementary School Level
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, fluent German-speaking Teacher for our German language After-school Program.
Duties
Provide after school care for students in the Elementary School level. Plan and guide activities for groups of up to 14 students and be responsible for their general welfare. The program runs from 2:00 – 6:00 pm during each day of school and from 8:30 am. – 6:00 pm. during the fall, winter and spring school breaks. We will consider candidates for both full and partial week positions.Requirements
